Media Manager

The Media Manager enables you to organize your media files within Joomla for use in various content items on your Web site. You can upload images, generate image codes, create directories and a lot more.
Media Manager can be accesed from your Control Panel home or via the menu system. From the menu system, select Site -> Media Manager. From the Control Panel, just click the Media Manager icon.
You should now be in the Media Manager. From here you may:
- Navigate the media file system
- Create a directory
- Upload an image or other media files
- Generate URL code
- Delete a media file or directory

Use the drop down Directory box to navigate throught the media file system. Alternatively, you may click the folder icons 
and the folder parent icon 
.
To use you media files within a story, it is best to maintain them under the /stories directory.
Create a directory
Type the name of the directory you would like to create in the Create Directory field. Then click the Create 
button.
Upload an image
Enter the file's location or click the Browse button and select the file that you want to upload from your local disk. Next, in the Directory drop down box, select the directory that you wish to upload the file to, and click the Upload icon 
. A message confirming the success of the upload will display and the file will appear in the Media Manager gallery window.
Generate Image/URL Code
You can generate your Image/URL code with Media Manager. Click the thumbnail image, or the pencil icon below it in the Media Manager window. This enters the hyperlink code in the "Image/URL Code" field. You may use this code to directly link to the media file.
Delete
To delete a file or a directory, click the 'Trash Can' icon under the image of the file in the Media Manager window. If you are deletin a directory it must already be empty.
